1. Vodka (водка)

Do you know who is the country that invented vodka? Yes, it's Russia. Vodka is a famous alcohol around the world, but sadly only a little amount of people know that vodka is from Russia. Vodka has a taste of spice, cream, citrus and pepper. According to legend, around 1430, Chudov Monastery a monk named Isifore from inside the Moscow Kremlin made a recipe of the Russian Vodka

 2. Tetris was made in Russia

Ah who doesn't know this nostalgic game? Did you know that tetris was made in Russia? Although this game gained world popularity, the first edition of Tetris was invented in 1984 in the USSR by programmer and scientist Alexey Pazhitnov.

3. The matryoshka doll has its roots in Japan

The famous Russian wooden doll, matryoshka, has a link to Japan. The story goes that Russian artist Sergey Malyutin, who was working on a design for a Russian wooden doll, was gifted a Japanese daruma doll, which had other dolls hidden inside it. The first-ever matryoshka, consisting of eight dolls, was made in the 1890s by wooden doll master Zvyozdochkin, who used Malyutin’s drawings.

4. Russia is basically a massive forest

Russian territory is huge, and the majority of it is Siberia. In other words, Russia is 60% forest. What’s more interesting, half of that forest is totally uninhabited by humans.
